I'll need to give that book a read when I finish the stack I've got beside my desk. I think that first letter skip is common to Royal standard size typewriters. All my HHs have had the problem as well as a KMG, and KMM I repaired.
I just counted 43 books on my to-read shelf and six next to the bed, so it may be a while before I get to this Grisham. I don't read a lot of fiction, but when I want to enter another world whose people's pressures are greater and more vivid than my own, I reach for James Lee Burke.
Regarding the creation of a "clear picture of what is going on...and relaying it to the readers...almost telepathic": That's exactly what I try to make technical documents achieve in my work as a writer and editor.

ReplyDeleteI think you’ll enjoy it Bill. It’s a quick read. I’m like you. My book stack is getting a little unwieldy and I keep adding to it.
