Paper holder is near completion. I’ll send some photos when complete. The Neo has it’s place. It’s great for grab-n-go. I can throw it in a gym bag or back pack and it’s ready to go when I am. But, the Typestar can’t be beat as a typewriter stand in. I have it set up for on the run work, but it does take more time and space to set up.
I have a thing sheet of luan plywood that fits the footprint of my Brother EP-20 that I mounted 2 wooden squares to with a 9/16" hole in each one to hold a 1/2" dowel rod for a roll of fax paper. I was going to make a U-shaped groove in the top instead of holes, but decided on holes being better able to prevent the paper roll from pulling out.
I got the idea from a similar item JVC made on his blog for his thermal printers.
I’m interested in how your paper roll holder works. And I like your comparison between the thermals and AlphaSmart Neo.

I like your idea. Seems it would be easy to carry too. Post some pics.
